A Bit About Julie

Julie is an independent analyst and futurist who is passionate about shaping the future of consumer experiences. She helps clients identify and answer difficult questions about the impact of emerging technologies on their industry, business, and customers.

Through rigorous research, analysis, and her personal networks, she has accurately identified market and technology trends, built decision frameworks, and identified best practices and then worked with clients to formulate client-specific strategies and actions to achieve business outcomes.

She leverages experience gained from helping companies capitalize on the last set of transformational technologies (e.g., mobile, cloud) to navigate the next (e.g., genAI).

ANALYST

I moved to San Francisco in the early 2000s to work on this thing called “mobile” and spent nearly 25 years researching its impact on consumer experiences, products, and business models. My work has shaped the evolution of digital experiences and guided brands through major technology shifts. Now, I’m focused on doing the same with generative AI.

With a background in engineering, business, telecom R&D, strategy, consulting, and market research, I bring a unique perspective at the intersection of consumers, emerging technology, and business.

As a technology futurist and digital product strategist, I’ve advised hundreds of global brands on leveraging mobile and emerging technologies to innovate consumer engagement and product strategies that drive business growth.

During my 20+ years as an industry analyst at Forrester, I authored hundreds of articles on consumer digital experiences, delivered keynotes and webinars, appeared on Bloomberg TV, and co-wrote The Mobile Mind Shift. Recently, Wharton Knowledge published an article I co-authored on parallels between generative AI and mobile.

I’ve been active my whole life, from competitive swimming at age 5 to team sports like soccer and ice hockey, and later endurance events—triathlons, half marathons, hiking, mountain biking, and Tough Mudders. Recently, I’ve taken up open-water swimming and have helped pilot a friend across both the Catalina and English Channels.

My passion for health fuels my research on how technology enhances wellness. At Forrester, I led studies on the role of digital experiences in improving health outcomes and longevity.
