Consumer adoption of genAI tools has been rapid in comparison to any app in history. We used to say that there were no barriers to the adoption of mobile. With a few scrolls of the thumb and pressing a couple of buttons, one could simply switch from Uber to Lyft if dissatisfied with the service. That said, one had to first buy or own a smartphone and have a credit card. Switching costs and barriers to adoption are even lower with these apps.
